R.P. Brennan was hired by New York University, a long time client, to renovate the 7th Floor of the Bobst Library into the Avery Fisher Center for Music and Media.
The project encompassed building out a range of user-centric facilities including media-ready carrels, collaborative rooms, and a seminar room for group screenings.
The design was based on up-to-the-minute advances in audio and video playback, in which state-of-the-art audiovisual technologies were installed and integrated throughout the floor. An “immersion room” was built for students to experience multi-screen video work and contemporary music composed for multi-channel, surround-sound systems.
